10 Reasons to Work with Us

1Our process is purpose driven. Every recommendation that is made has a documented purpose pertinent to your goals and situation.

2Our recommendations are unbiased and objective. They are based on pursuing your priorities. When looking at a client’s situation, the question we ask is “what would I do if it were me?”

3We make all fees transparent. In such a complex industry with different fee structures, understanding them can be difficult. We’ll make it clear.

4If you have other financial relationships in place, you don’t need to change them. We have clients that do their planning with us and buy their products from their insurance and investment representatives.

5Our process is education-based. We want our clients to have an understanding of the topic(s) of focus in order to make informed decisions.

6We do not have any proprietary products, nor do we receive any pressure to sell any specific products, programs, or companies.

7We take a team-based approach to our planning process. Our clients have a primary contact and also have access to the experience and resources of the entire firm.

8Our clients all have access to a website personalized with their information, including the ability to access information for all financial related accounts.

9Our process allows for an interaction that addresses the issues of concern in an easy to understand and comfortable environment. Whatever the concern(s) may be, we work to help fully understand the issue and the best options to address your concerns.

10We provide personalized financial advice, which comes from a source that researches, customizes, and provides solutions that most benefit you.

No system or financial planning strategy can guarantee future results.

At S.E.E.D. Planning Group, LLC (S.E.E.D.) we strive to provide transparency and clear expectations throughout the financial planning process. Whether you are a prospective client or you have been with us for years, our goal is to provide responsible advice that prioritizes you.

S.E.E.D. is a fee-based financial planning firm, which means our clients pay us a predetermined fee to provide personalized advice. Any fees are based on the amount of work we will be doing for you over a specific period of time and are determined after we’ve mutually agreed upon the areas of planning.

Be sure to inquire about our employer, legacy, and combined services discounts.

What should I expect during my first appointment?

The first appointment will consist of a comfortable conversation with one or two of our advisors. You will have an opportunity to learn about our firm and how we might be able to help you. Our goal is to learn about you, your family or business, financial situation, goals, and personal beliefs. By the end of the meeting we should have an idea of where our services might come into play as well as an outline of what the planning process would look like moving forward.

What should I bring with me to the first meeting?

Information that is helpful in maximizing the value of your consultation includes your monthly budget, a pay stub, investment/insurance/pension/social security statements (if you can find them), and a list of any debts you owe including their interest rates, balances, and payments. The more information the better.

What does the first appointment cost?

Just your time. The first appointment is complimentary as it is an opportunity for us to get to know you and to identify areas in which we may be able to help. If it appears that we can help you and that you are interested in our services, we will either provide you a quote at the appointment or invite you back for a second appointment where we can discuss the required scope of services and the cost in greater detail.

What services does S.E.E.D. provide?

We provide objective and transparent financial consultation and coaching. For individuals, the major areas of planning include retirement, long term care, elder care, college education, and investment. For small business owners, the major areas of planning include employee benefits design, retirement plan design, succession planning, buy-sell planning, and executive compensation design.

What happens after I hire S.E.E.D.?

We will enter into a contract together that defines how we will work together to achieve your goals.

I work with a financial advisor (broker or insurance agent) and the consulting is part of their service for managing my investments. Why would I work with you when they’re including that in their investment management?

There is a direct conflict of interest when providing free advice. If the advice is free and the advisor’s compensation is contingent on you buying investments or insurance from them, how objective can the advice be? We have many clients who work with us distinctly for advice and then take recommendations to their investment person or insurance person to implement.

Do I have to transfer all of my assets to S.E.E.D. in order to get advice?

No. We are here to help and provide services as needed and wanted. S.E.E.D. can manage your investments for you, but we do not require this. If you have a current investment manager, like to manage your investments yourself, or are locked into a 401k plan through your employer, we can help without taking over.

Does S.E.E.D. have any proprietary products?

S.E.E.D. does not produce any products or insurance and does not receive bonus compensation or pressure to sell any specific products, programs, or companies.

How does S.E.E.D. bill?

Depending on the work we are doing for you, we may bill 0 – 100% up front and the remainder either at the time of completion or spread over a 12-month time frame in periodic payments.

How do I pay?

We can accept credit card, payroll deduction, direct payments from your investment accounts, and/or check.

Who will I work with at S.E.E.D.?

We believe in a team approach with a consistent point of contact. You generally will be working with one or two specific advisors. Having a team is important in the case that one of your advisors is out of town or unavailable due to meetings. This also allows you to benefit from the experience of the entire S.E.E.D. staff as opposed to one individual.

What happens if I live or move away from the area where there is a S.E.E.D. office?

No problem. We have clients across the country and the capability to do business in any state.
